Good evening, fellow Rotarians. We would like to thank everyone for their participation and attendance of the fellowship this past Sunday.

 

Another reminder to fill out and submit your online Club Health Check forms. Emails were sent out to members last week. 

 

Please note the upcoming Community Clean Up Day on September 12th from 7 am – 9 am. We will meet in the Valley, across from the Agriculture grounds (next to the trough). Bags and gloves will be provided

  • Updates from board meeting: 

    • Service Projects

      • Elevator

        • President Shameica had a conversation with the new director of Education department in relation to the way forward with the project. The director stated that she will get in touch with Mrs. Petty Barette for an update on the project.

      • Solar Project

        • Rtn. Linda Goddard reported that there was a change in opportunity funding for the solar project by a new company.

        • The company is proposing that a none binding memorandum of understanding be signed whereby they can highlight the project on their website for funding purposes and also utilize rotary logo on their website to showcase partnering with rotary

      • Gazebo

        • The handover for the gazebo was successfully completed and handed over. The ceremony was attended by rotarians and honorary rotarians.

    • Up coming projects: Regarding the upcoming projects, President Shameica needs members to state what they are interested on working on:

      • Pink Fashion Show: schedule 22nd, 23rd or 24th of October. Everyone wears pink. 

        • We can reach out to designers who have pink items. We need members to help out organize the event. 

        • Reaching out to Mr Romney to utilize his villa for this event.

      • Food Bank

        • The idea of the food bank would be to purchase and provide to persons in need.

        • The proposed time for the first bank would be in December then in January. 

        • The board would need persons to contact, collect, store and deliver items.

      • Spelling Bee and Butterfly Story Book

        • President Shameica reports that she sent an email out to the head of department for both events.

        • The board decided to look into sponsorship for the awards.

      • Free Little Library

        • The proposed to have the free library completed in September.

        • We agree to find out the cost of the material and look at the date for the presentation. 

        • President Shameica stated that she reached out to partners on this project and they are willing to partner with our club on this project.

      • Diabetes Projectjmjk8ikj

        • The board agreed to reach out to the diabetes association for diabetes day the 14th November to support their activities.

      • Cooking Healthy with Rotary

        • For the diabete month the board opts to have a session whereby  

        • Developing a program for EarlyActors and Interactors

        • How to cook/prepare healthy snacks and breakfast

        • Partnering with Community College to use their kitchen

      • Business expo

      • Beautification Project
