July –New Leadership Month

Soak up all the information that is going to be presented at these week’s meeting you’re going to need it. Our very own Immediate Past President Jeritza Samuel and Secretary Chevonne  Da Souza will enlighten you with knowledge about our District and Rotary International with a few tidbits about our own club.

 In our aim to build the leadership in our club. We will be embarking on a few rotary knowledge building endeavours. As you are we have our Officers Training on 11th July 2020 from 9am to 12 pm. 

On Thursday 23rd July we will have a Rotary Trivia Challenge which will club split into teams vying for the title of Rotary Knowledge Champion.  Questions will be pulled from today’s presentation so pull out your pens and feel free to make notes. At that meeting we will also launch our online Rotary Knowledge Quiz.

Please also note our next meeting will be club assembly

    • The  Ministry of Social Development, with coordination through the Community Services Planner’s desk, has launched a public service outreach initiative dubbed the ‘Community Desk’. This initiative seeks to have representatives of Government Departments and statutory bodies engage with stakeholders in various group settings and communities  across Anguilla to respond to queries/ concerns, clarify misconceptions and frequently asked questions,  while providing information on their agency’s public services (their mandate, how to access the services, and critical due diligent needed to facilitate/access certain services).

  • In preparation of Jeopardy on July 23rd, Rtns Jeritza and Chevonne presented main facts about RI and District 7020. Presentations will be emailed to members.

  • PLASTIC FREE CHALLENGE: July 25th Saturday is CLEAN UP RUBBISH IN LOCAL AREA

    • Members agreed to take part of this challenge

    • A drive around by members to look for the best area to clean. Choices submitted to the club then members will agree on a location

    • Rtn Allister secured garbage bags for that clean up. He is working on securing gloves as well.

    • Interactors would be invited to join RCA.

    • Submission of the idea of a SIGN “ THIS AREA IS BEING KEPT CLEAN BY…” ADOPT AN AREA campaign. It could be an opportunity to partner with other local clubs or businesses.
